Started in less lethal using two 68 cal. Bryna HDs, which fit into small Chrome zippered bags. Small size, trigger activated CO2 cartridge, loud noise, realistic "Glockish" look, surprise element & a response more than zero for confrontations. Does the job, but with those smaller 8 gram CO2s, not even close to the 3x's more powerful stopping power of a Mercury Rise IntruBuster G2. I considered the Byrna CL-XL which has a smaller grip, but its smaller size advantage is diminished with the 12 Gram version. It is also very costly & uses 61 caliber. Should I pay almost 3x's more for the CL-XL? Its lower power rating & limited accessary options also lag the IntruBuster option.
Enter the Mercury Rise 68 Cal. IntruBuster G2, with similar internals to the famous Pistelle X-68, comes in at a fraction of the cost, with full 12 gram cartridges, excellent sights, barrel options for more power, & rails to add options. It's certainly near or at the top of power delivery!
I have the affordable & excellent Votautu G2L-G green laser/light combo on mine. It fits perfectly under the barrel. I was able to sight it in, then adjust the laser to match the bullseye shots I was getting at 20 feet. Votautu offers Police discounts, so less than $40 for the combo laser!
I highly recommend the InterBuster G-2 for less lethal protection purposes!
Be aware of its LARGE size, being more challenging for concealed carry - the Kat-Luca Belly bands [****] might be a good carry option.
I will be using mine more for house protection & backpack carry. Recommend a slide-on rubber grip as the plastic handle can be slippery. I wish the screw-in CO2 piece at the bottom had a more grippable design - it can be harder to turn at times.
They also make a Pepper Wasp model which is much smaller, using 4 round 43 cal. pepper balls.
